The Rev. Mark Crawford

The Rev. Mark Crawford, Interim Rector
Rev. Mark Crawford, our interim rector, is a native of New Orleans, LA. He recently completed an assignment as Interim Rector at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Beaumont, and we are fortunate to have him with us at St. Timothy’s during our search process. Rev. Crawford will be here full-time with us at St. Timothy’s. Mark was educated at SMU, Oxford University and Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He earned an M.A. in theology at Oxford and a Doctor of Ministry degree at APTS in 2001. Also a Board Certified (Hospital) Chaplain, he brings a strong background in pastoral care. He and his wife, Lis, did serve as missionaries with the Anglican Diocese of Paraguay for three years before returning to Texas. Rev. Crawford has served in the Diocese of Texas since 1983 including the parishes of Ascension, Houston; Grace Church, Georgetown; St. James’ Taylor; Holy Spirit, Waco; Grace, Alvin and Palmer Memorial, Houston. He was a chaplain at St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston for six years from 2008-2014. He has also been the Episcopal Chaplain at Southwestern, Texas A & M and Rice universities. He just completed service on the Standing Committee and as a Deputy for General Convention for the Diocese of Texas (2009-2015). Welcome him and Lis to St. Timothy’s, and you might ask him about his two grandchildren, Zara (18 months) and Andrew who was born just last weekend!
