The Hall at St. Timothy's
What is The Hall?
The Hall is a “safe space” for intermediate students after school (in the Youth Hall). Located next door to Lake Jackson Intermediate School, The Hall is a convenient destination for students. There are no fees. Students must practice good behavior. Snacks, assistance with homework, indoor and out-door games are provided. Students can choose their activities while waiting to be picked up. Our Goal Our goal is to create a happy environment where young teens gain self-confidence and skills for making wise choices. Serving the Brazosport Community Since 1996 Over 3000 different students have visited since The Hall opened in October 1996. They have consumed a mountain of snacks—100,000ish. Those who benefit from The Hall include the students, their families, teachers and local businesses. The kids of the Hall have some nice new benches to use while they are waiting to be picked up at the end of the day. The benches have a decorative mosaic, which was made by the kids. In addition, Zachary Construction upgraded the pool table, its sticks and balls. . .another much needed and appreciated improvement. More Information The Hall is open from 3:15 - 5:00 Monday - Thursday, school days, and closed for the summer and holidays. We are closed on Fridays. Hall Coordinator, Sharon McKey (979) 285-3567 Funding The Hall relies totally on contributions from individuals, civic groups, businesses, trusts and volunteers who contribute time and talent. |
